how to get top rank in IIT JEE: lettre by a student!

Dear Friends,

I am putting this article for the benefit of you all! Any comments or suggestions are always welcome and please leave them.

Have you ever wondered what is the difference between you and the one who tops? The difference is the advice which I am going to give you. There are 2 Success Secrets That 97 Out of Each 100 Students Preparing for IIT-JEE, Do Not Know And How Learning These 2 Secrets Can Help Ensure You Get Success.Do you realize that half of the IIT-JEE aspirants join one of the good coaching classes, pay Rs 20,000 to over Rs 1 lac as coaching fee, spend 12 to 24 months (or longer) to attend the classes, work at home, and make sacrifices. But all this effort will be wasted and they will still fail. These people are sincere, hardworking students and try to do most that is in their control.

They fail because nobody taught them these two secrets:

  1. How the difference between 100% whole-hearted effort and 90% or 95% effort is HUGE (and not just 5% or 10%)
  2. How competitions are different from exams and the importance of the Bell Curve for success in competitions
Are you ready to learn these secrets?

How the difference between 100% whole-hearted effort and 90% or 95% effort is HUGE (& not just 5% or 10%)

Understanding this principle is crucial.
In Pilani during my engineering education, I was among the high grade students. That was in all semesters except the last semester. What happened? Well, I thought, "I am very intelligent and smart and I will surely get admission with scholarship to at least 2 American universities and will go to USA." "And, since the admission to America does not depend on how well I do in the final semester, let me relax a bit. Let me not work hard to the 100% of my ability. Let me work only 90% or 95% as hard as I always worked".
With that thought process, when the results finally came, I scored about 6.5 grade points out of 10 (where as I was above 9 grade points out of 10 otherwise).

What's the lesson for you?

If you have a goal and if the goal is so important that you are really serious about achieving, willing to work hard and make sacrifices, then put in 100% effort. Don't be a lazy person thinking just 90% or 95% effort will be good enough. O.K? Then follow it!

Give your best. Try your best.

Work wholeheartedly. And, achieve success.

How to crack IIT JEE in 4 months????

Well nowadays I have met students who say “I am loosing my confidence”. Should I drop?

What Will Happen If You Lose Your Confidence?

First of all tell me …What will happen if you lose your confidence? Is it going to help you?

The answer is NO.

So why to take tension. Just go there, write your exam. Rest leave it to god.

Why are you thinking of dropping Now?

First let the exam happen.

IIT at any Cost…

See your aim must be only IIT, Nothing else. Dont think about any other exam. Don’t think “Mera IIT mein nahin hoga to mai AIEEE ka prepare kar Leta/Leti hoon”

We all know that it’s high time but the difference between ordinary and EXTRA ordinary is that EXTRA

IITians won’t lose hope at this time. Am I right?

4 Months is all what you have…

We all watch movies, don’t we?

You just watch them or learn anything from them?

Have you seen CHAK DE, that sattar minutes? Just replace that sattar minutes by 4 Mahine (months)

“4 Months, 4 Months is what all you have. If you study day and Night in these 4 months, then nobody can stop you from getting selected in IIT’s”

You have to give your best, that’s It”

Nothing to lose. That’s what your thinking must be.

Just Finish the Syllabus as Soon as Possible…

If your preparations are not over yet then finish them as soon as possible and if you have started now then don’t worry 4 months are enough for JEE if you prepare sincerely.

If you have lots of syllabus to do, then try to finish it by the end of Feb so that you can spend March and April for revision.

Try to finish the chapters properly. It’s a common tendency of a student to finish the chapter in a hurry so that he/she can move on to the next chapter. See, if you do gaseous state of Chemistry, don’t do it half heartedly (to do more chapters ahead). Finish it properly.

If you know 7 out of 10 chapters (properly), its far better than 10 (not properly studied)

And the most important, if your preparation is full, why are you losing confidence?

If it’s not complete then do it. Whats the use of losing confidence?

So the decision is in your hands. How you want to manage the preparation totally depends on you.

I just want each and every one of you has a bright future

I want all the ECians who are aspiring for IIT to fulfill their dream of being an IITian.

If We Try, We Can and We Will…

So please cut the crap and don’t lost hope because 4 months is all what you have.

Just keep studying and try to enjoy the process of preparing for IITJEE or any other exam.

trends of IIT JEE: Must for every IIT JEE 2012 aspirant

The pattern of IIT-JEE had changed very much 5 years ago. The IIT-JEE was made objective and Mains was screwed. Now if we believe Kapil Sibbal the aspirants must be ready for an aptitude test in future. Those appearing for IIT JEE in 2012 must not worry much because pattern is not going to change this year(we believe ). Change of pattern may not happen this year but be cautious. Pattern of IIT JEE may not change but pattern of paper may change. We have seen that paper of IIT JEE 2011 was extremely easy(as compared to earlier IIT JEE ). This paper resulted in elevation of cut off marks.

But Million Dollars Question is WHY WAS IIT JEE PAPER MADE SO EASY???
The answer is simple. IIT people want to close coaching classes. They have also said that they want RAW TALENT not trained parrots from IIT JEE coaching classes.
Thus they wanted to show IIT JEE aspirants that if they study intermediate seriously there will be no need of coaching classes as paper coming is very easy.

Why IIT people hate Coaching Classes???
Earlier there was a mains paper which one had to pass for clearing IIT JEE. This mains paper was very difficult and far above intermediate level . Thus students need coaching classes. There were equal number of aspirants who cleared IIT JEE with self study. but as time passed this ratio changed significantly. Coaching classes growed like mushrooms in whole country. Students were trained like parrots to clear IIT JEE. There was little knowledge and lots of rattafication( learning by heart).

IIT People Introduced OBJECTIVE PAPER???
To curb coaching classes(and also to overcome problem caused by increasing number of test takers. ) IIT People decided to introduce single objective type question paper. But this doesn't help. Coaching Classes were grown instead. With objective paper it was easy for them to TRAIN there students. Thus dependency on coaching classes increased. Coaching instead on giving knowledge trained their students to TACKLE objective problems even if they dont know answers. When these students reached IITs proffessors realised that these students dont have much knowledge. They just know how to solve objective problems with known formulaes. They dont know the basics( that why physics experiments and error chapter were added.).

Finally.....IIT Profs Declared that " WE NEED RAW TALENT NOT TRAINED STUDENTS FROM COACHING CLASSES."

thus we see very easy paper of IIT JEE 2012.

What should I do........I am a aspirant of IIT JEE 2012......???
firstly clear your basics. read your intermediate standard books...easpecially NCERT books very carefully(hey i am not joking.... ). read every concept of these books. we believe that IIT JEE 2012 will be similiar to IIT JEE 2011. thus you have to score much to get a decent rank which you can do by clearing all concepts fron NCERT books.

We think that paper will not be very difficult but will cover questions from all chapters. Questions will also be in very clear cut form that is based on very small concepts not taught at coaching classes. so its my advice that before doing tough questions PLEASE CLEAR ALL YOUR CONCEPTS BY READING NCERT BOOKS.....PLEASE...PLEASE.....PLEASE.
after reading ncert books its totally your choice to study what you want....so good luck

books for iit jee 2011

If you are preparing for IIT JEE the toughest job for you must be selecting right books for your preparation. Books remain with you from first day till the IIT JEE day. So choosing a right book is the first and the most important step for IIT JEE.
Many friends will consult you so many books that your whole time is consumed in reading and searching the books. All the books are not same but reading all the books available in the market is not necessary and for some of us it is impossible.
So choosing books is crucial step and thus I am presenting my own collection of books. This list is based on my three years experience and by using this list I have cleared IIT JEE this year.(note: the list I am presenting here is my personal choice. Please consult your teacher before blindly following anything )

Back to the basics
In my coaching I have seen many students which are intelligent but are unable to crack IIT JEE. On the other hand you may see many students which are not so brilliant but are able to crack IIT JEE. It happens because they don’t have knowledge of basics of their syllabus. You must have basic knowledge of all the things in your syllabus to crack IIT JEE. You can easily prepare a topic and can easily do all the toughest problem in it and you can become superstar in your coaching but you cant crack IIT JEE this way.
So you must understand all the basic concepts of your syllabus. This is more a tough job as it seems. For basic knowledge I used following books-
Physics: H.C. Verma(part 1 and 2 ).
Chemistry: NCERT class 11 and 12th books.
Maths : NCERT class 11 and 12th book.

Many people ignore basics and that’s why they fail in IIT JEE. If you don’t trust me then solve any previous year IIT JEE’s paper and you will come to know that how important basics are. And also remember good buildings have great foundations. If you feel uncomfortable in any specific topic don’t be shy to consult books of lower class.

Now move to IIT JEE’s level
IIT JEE questions are not tough. They are unique and requires a good problem solving approach. So you must solve many problems so that your concepts are well grounded in your mind.
The books which I am consulting now is of advanced level and must be read only after completing basic level.(using these books for starting level may be seriously injurious to your health and your IIT JEE result. )

Physics: Arihant problem book( these have many solved and unsolved problems in different formats). If you have time you can also do ierodov.(many ierodov problems are now covered in almost every IIT JEE preparation book ).
Chemistry: there is a book in the market of balagi publications, written by M.S. Chauhan(H.O.D. chemistry bansal classes kota ). If you not get it you go for arihant problem book in chemistry.
Maths: Arihant books. If you could solve them, you could easily attempt your IIT JEE paper. Tata McGraw hill is another best option for IIT JEE.

For advance level you could also consult any coaching material like bansal, fiitIIT JEE, resonance but avoid using multiple books. If you have arihant books then not buy any coaching material. If you have coaching material don’t buy arihant books.
But the most important thing is that you learn your basics first. After reading basic level books you can buy either any coaching material referred above or you can buy arihant books. if you have joined any coaching then after covering basics you must do your coaching material before entering advance level.

If you don’t have money then what to do…..

if you don’t have much money to do coachings , buy expensive material’s then also you can crack IIT JEE. Many students have cracked IIT JEE without coachings. Biggest example is the current 10 pointer of IIT KANPUR……Mayank.
You can buy old editions of book. You can ask students their study materials. You can even search libraries for study material. Many coaching’s have their old study material, they can give it to you for free. You can even search junk dealers for study material. These things are appearing joke but if you are a needy one you can try this. My maths teacher had borrowed study materials from his friend and then he ran away from his house and came Lucknow. After studying by himself on railway platform he cleared IIT JEE. That’s the spirit you needed. Best of luck for your IIT JEE.
Congratulations, on choosing engineering as your career. It is not only most respectable but also most interesting and challenging.
Entering IIT is every students dream.IIT tags not only puts you in
creme-de-la creme of society but also heavies your pocket.
This blog will help to convert your dream into reality.
